Peugeot has unveiled the E-5008, its new seven-seater electric SUV.

The model will come with a choice of 213hp, 231hp, and 320hp electric powertrains, with battery capacities of 73kWh, 98kWh, and 73kWh respectively, equalling provisional WLTP ranges of 311 miles, 410 miles, and 311 miles. A 160kW charging capacity will allow a 20-80% charge in 30 minutes.

In addition, mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid 5008s will be available, with 136hp and 195hp respectively. The latter has a provisional WLTP EV range of 49 miles.

The model is the first to be built on an extended version of parent company Stellantis’s STLA-M platform, measuring 4.79m in length.

Peugeot says access to the third row of seats is aided by an ‘easy access’ system allowing the second-row seats to be tilted and slid forward simultaneously.

In the UK, there will be a choice of Allure and GT equipment grades. Standard equipment with the Allure grade will include a panoramic i-Cockpit with a 21in curved screen, an i-Connect® Advanced infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, keyless entry and start, an HD reversing camera, rear parking sensors, LED headlights, and 19in alloy wheels.

Further equipment with the GT grade will include 20in alloy wheels, pixel LED headlights, 3D LED rear lights, front parking sensors, a ‘hands-free electric tailgate, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go function.

Orders for the new E-5008 and 5008 will open in the Autumn. Prices are yet to be announced.
