Mercedes has raised the entry-level price of the new C-class range by £260 to £22,950 for the C200 Kompressor SE.
The entry-level price for the diesel C200 CDI SE saloon stands at £24,090.
Mercedes maintains that although the entry-level price is up on the outgoing entry model the higher specification cars are virtually unchanged over the old C-class.
The prestige saloon is available in three trims – SE, Elegance and Sport. Prices jump £1195 between SE and Elegance and a further £1700 to go from Elegance to Sport.
The range tops out with the C350 Sport priced at £35,475.
The new C-class goes on sale in the UK in June.
