The new Mazda2 Hybrid supermini has been unveiled.
The model is based on the Toyota Yaris, and will be supplied by Toyota as part of a collaboration between the two manufacturers.
The Mazda2 Hybrid features a 93hp petrol engine and a 59kW electric motor for a combined 116hp system output, resulting in official WLTP fuel economy figures of 70.6-74.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 87-93g/km.
There will be a choice of three equipment grades in Europe – Pure, Agile, and Select – and it will be sold in the UK alongside the existing, non-Toyota related Mazda2 supermini.
The Mazda2 Hybrid will go on sale in Europe in spring next year. Prices are yet to be announced.
