Hyundai has announced technical details, including powertrain specs, for its new Ioniq 6 EV.
The electric saloon will be available with a 77.4kWh battery, which Hyundai says will make it capable of covering more than 379 miles between charges on the official WLTP cycle.
A 53kWh battery option will also be available, and there will be a choice of all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive motor options, with the former producing 325hp.
Hyundai says the Ioniq 6 specced with the 53kWh battery and rear-wheel drive will offer energy consumption of less than 14kWh/100km, which it says will make it one of the most energy efficient EVs on the market, thanks to its aerodynamically optimised styling.
The model will also be capable of ultra-fast 400V and 800V charging.
The Ioniq 6 is 4,855mm long, 1,880mm wide, and 1,495mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm.
Interior features will include a 12in infotainment touchscreen and 12in digital instrument cluster, and dual colour ambient lighting.
The Ioniq 6 will also be the first Hyundai to come with over-the-air software updates.
The Ioniq 6 will go into production during the third quarter of 2022. UK specs, prices and an on-sale date are yet to be announced.
