Leasing company Arval UK has named John Peters as its new head of consultancy.
In his new role, Peters will be tasked with leading the company’s fleet and mobility consulting activities across its UK customer base. He will head up a team of six specialist fleet and mobility consultants, whose job is to guide and advise Arval’s clients, working both on a direct one-to-one basis with specific companies, and producing new advice and tools for wider use.
Peters, who will also become the UK lead for Arval’s Mobility Observatory research programme, first joined GE Capital Fleet Services in 2002, and following that business’s acquisition by Arval in 2015 has held a number of key roles, most recently being strategic marketing leader focusing on mobility solutions.
Peters said: “In recent years, those managing fleets have had to handle an increasing range of responsibilities and challenges, and have often had less time to spend on resolving them. As consultants, our task is to help clients make sense of this ever-increasing complexity in the fleet sector and guide them towards successful solutions.
“At a UK level, we have huge expertise in supporting clients through their business objectives, creating future-proofed fleet and mobility solutions that answer traditional needs but also maximise the opportunities created by new products and technologies. We have an extensive track record of delivering for a very wide range of customers.
“Importantly, we can also look to Arval’s huge international expertise, and frequently draw on initiatives underway in other countries to offer new answers to fleet needs that might currently be outside the scope of UK operators. It’s an important advantage, especially when it comes to mobility, and a key part of the credibility that we enjoy in the market.
“Moving forward, I want to ensure our consultancy team is equipped to help with emerging issues whether in the worlds of sustainable fleet operations, micro-mobility, electrification infrastructure or a whole range of new technologies currently under development. It’s a challenging but exciting moment in our industry.”
In his new role, Peters replaces Shaun Sadlier, who retired in June after more than 20 years with Arval.
Arval UK managing director Lakshmi Moorthy said: “We are very pleased to be able to name John as our new head of consultancy. He has huge experience both within Arval and the wider fleet sector and is the right person to lead this important function within our company.
“We’d also like to put on the record our thanks to Shaun, who made a strong contribution to Arval over many years. We’d like to wish him a fulfilling and happy retirement.”
