Bolton Community College has launched a new training scheme for commercial drivers, claiming it is the first of its kind in the north west of England.

Offering a range of courses including NVQs in road passenger vehicles and driving goods vehicles, the course will also cover fuel efficiency techniques and manual handling skills.

“After speaking to various employers in the borough, we found that there is a real need for driver-specific training, so we expect the courses to be well received,” said Jayne Allman, business development manager at the college.
