Audi has revealed the saloon version of its new A6 executive car.

The saloon follows on from the Avant estate version of the A6 which was unveiled last month.

The saloon is said to have a 0.23 drag coefficient, which according to Audi is the best-ever figure achieved by one of its ICE-powered cars.

As with the Avant, the saloon will be available with a choice of two 204hp engine options – a petrol and a mild hybrid diesel, with front-wheel drive and Quattro four-wheel drive respectively. Both will come with dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Also as with the Avant, the saloon will be available in the UK with a choice of Sport, S Line, and Edition 1 equipment grades.

Prices for petrol versions start at £50,560 with the Sport grade, and rise to £53,380 with the S Line grade, and £56,260 with the Edition 1 grade. Diesel mild hybrid versions start at £54,830 with the Sport grade, and rise to £57,630 with the S Line grade, and £62,530 with the Edition 1 grade. These prices represent reductions of £1,950 compared with the Avant.

Sales of the saloon are scheduled to begin on 13 May, with the first deliveries at the beginning of July.
