Vauxhall has revealed a new, second-generation version of its Grandland SUV.
The model, which will be available with a choice of electric, plug-in hybrid, and 48V hybrid powertrains, is Vauxhall’s first to be based on parent company Stellantis’s new STLA Medium platform.
At 4650mm long, it is 173mm longer than the outgoing model, as well as 64mm wider and 19mm taller, creating space for the recently-announced Frontera in the manufacturer’s SUV line-up.
The electric Grandland will feature a battery with up to 98kWh of capacity, allowing a provisional range of up to 435 miles on the WLTP cycle.
The plug-in hybrid Grandland’s battery will allow up to 53 miles of EV range, while the 48V hybrid will pair a 28hp electric motor with a 136hp petrol engine.
Available features of the new Grandland will include Intelli-Lux Pixel HD headlights, with over 50,000 individual elements, as well as new Intelli-Seat front seats, interior fabric made from recycled PET products, and more than 35 litres of interior storage compartments, including a new semi-transparent ‘Pixel Box’.
The new Grandland is set to open for orders in July, and arrive in UK showrooms this Autumn. Full specs and prices are yet to be announced.
