Maserati has unveiled its first ever electrified car - a mild hybrid version of its Ghibli executive saloon.

Badged as the Ghibli Hybrid, it features a 2.0-litre petrol engine with a 48V alternator and an electric supercharger supported by a battery.

Total powertrain output is 330hp, WLTP combined fuel economy is 33.5-29.4mpg, and CO2 emissions are 192-216g/km.

There are also exterior styling tweaks compared to the previous Ghibli, including a redesigned front grille and new rear light clusters.

Inside the size of the HD multimedia screen has increased from 8.4in to 10.1in, and it runs a Maserati Intelligent Assistant system said to be fully customisable to the driver’s preferences.

There’s also a new digital instrument panel with new graphics.

The Ghibli Hybrid also sees the debut of Maserati Connect, offering software updates, car checks, and safety and security monitoring in emergencies.
