Michelin has appointed Jonathan Layton has its new head of fleet for the UK.
Layton’s role will involve managing the company’s team of account managers to extend and improve the level of service to its car and van fleet customers, which range from leasing companies and home-delivery firms to blue-chip multinational companies.
He joined the UK division of the French tyre giant in 2000 as a key account manager in the car fleet sectorbefore moving to the role of sales manager for Ireland in 2003.
Most recently, he has been sales manager for the agricultural division, a role he has held since 2013.
“Michelin has a well-founded reputation for being at least one step ahead of the curve, and I’m delighted to be taking on my new role at such an exciting time for the business,” he said. “Within the last 12 months our Cross Climate tyres have secured a series of major fleet industry awards, plus won acclaim from fleet managers nationwide.”
The company’s Cross Climate tyre range scooped the Innovation Award in the 2016 BusinessCar Technology Awards. It is the world’s first summer tyre with winter capabilities.
