Mercedes-Benz has revealed its new CLA Shooting Brake and has confirmed it will come with a 101g/km CO2 2.0-litre diesel when it goes on sale in time for the March 2015 plate-change.
All CLA Shooting Brake’s are equipped as standard with the ECO start/stop function and are Euro 6-compliant.
There’s a choice of two diesels from launch including the 101g/km option and a higher-powered CLA 220 CDI. There will also be three petrol options with a C180 128g/km model and higher-powered CLA 200 and CLA 250 variants.
Two more diesels will be added to the range in time for the September plate-change next year including a CLA200 CDI 4Matic and CLA220 CDI 4Matic.
The boot capacity ranges from 495 litres to 1354 litres. The rear load space can be increased with the seats up by moving the rear row into a more steeply raked “cargo” position, which boosts the boot by 100 litres to 595 litres.
All-wheel drive is available from launch, initially in the CLA 250 4MATIC and CLA 250 Sport 4MATIC models.
Standard safety equipment includes Collision Prevention Assist Plus, which includes autonomous braking in the event of a potential rear-end collision.
The CLA Shooting Brake will come with Urban and AMG Line equipment lines. The AMG Line includes AMG body-styling, 18-inch AMG five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and a two-pipe exhaust system with chrome-plated tailpipe trim.
The interior on the AMG Line includes sports seats in Artico man-made leather/Dinamica microfibre, a multi-function sports steering wheel with flattened bottom section and a leather-upholstered shift lever. AMG Line models come with lowered sports suspension.
Urban models include a diamond radiator grille with high-gloss black 18-inch five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and the two-pipe exhaust system with chrome-plated tailpipe trim. Interior features on the Urban include sports seats with contrasting topstitching and a multifunction leather steering wheel with perforated grip.
A panoramic sliding sunroof is optional extra.
