Mazda has confirmed UK prices and specifications for the facelifted version of its 6 large family car.

With starting prices between £23,045 and £32,795, the range includes saloon and Tourer estates models.

There are four trim levels – SE-L Nav+, SE-L Lux Nav+, Sport Nav+ and GT Sport Nav+.

The revised 6 marks the UK debut of Mazda’s new Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre petrol engine. Available only with GT Sport Nav+ trim, this direct-injection unit features a cylinder deactivation system that allows it to switch seamlessly between four and two-cylinder operation, improving fuel economy without affecting performance.

Of the other engines in the range, the 2.0-litre petrol has been enhanced with new intake ports, new pistons, and revised fuel injection and cooling, while the 2.2-litre diesel gets a power boost from 175hp to 184hp in its highest state of tune.

The revised 6 also features a restyled front end with revised headlights and fog lights, and at the rear a new-look boot lid and revised bumper styling.

New alloy wheel designs have also been added to the range.

The car’s interior sees the introduction of a larger 8in central display screen, a 7in TFT LCD in the driver’s instrument binnacle and a full colour windscreen projecting display.

Suspension upgrades have also been carried out, which Mazda says means improved ride quality, and more insulation has been added to reduce noise in the cabin.

There has also been an increase in standard safety equipment, with all models now getting blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, radar cruise control, lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking.

The new 6 range will arrive in the UK this summer.
