Former Fleet Support Group sales director Marcus Bray has re-entered the fleet industry with the launch of Fleet Services Great Britain.

Bray, along with his father and stepmother helped grow Fleet Support Group from what he called a  “kitchen table concept” to becoming the UK’s largest privately owned fleet management company managing 55,000 vehicles and drivers.

In 2011 FSG was acquired by ARI and was renamed ARI Fleet shortly afterwards. The sale led to the departure of Bray’s father, stepmother and himself.

Bray said he was approached by a number of people with experience and following discussions FSGB was launched. All members of the senior management team are stakeholders in the business.

The chief executive of the company is Mark Pearce, a former  garage owner and fleet management accountant, while the head of operations is Peter Hitt, while Bray’s father, Geoffrey is the non-executive chairman of the company.

“A fleet management company must never forget that it is the client who owns the asset and it is their money the management company is spending,” said Bray. “To be successful therefore a fleet management company must truly understand a client’s needs and become a genuine extension of the customer’s management team.”

“By sharing goals and visions, trust develops which ultimately leads to a partnership that delivers a cost and operationally beneficial service,” said Bray.
