Land Rover will pull the wraps off a commercial vehicle version of the Freelander at next month’s CV Show.

The Freelander Commercial, with a load space of 1670 litres, is based on the regular Freelander, but has the rear seats and side airbags removed and replaced with a full-height bulkhead, floor lashing points, fixed rear side glass, tail door and side window guards plus rubber loadspace mat.

The Freelander van will be available in S and XS trim levels. In basic S specification the commercial vehicle makes do with basi four-wheel drive, while the XS trim adds the advanced Terrain Response 4×4 system from the passenger carrying Freelander and alloy wheels, powered folding mirrors, full size spare wheel, climate control and front parking sensors.

Prices start from £17,715 (ex-VAT) for the S model and rise to £21,817 (ex-VAT) for the XS version. The Freelander Commercial goes on sale in April.
