Kwik-Fit Fleet is launching a service to ensure vehicle tyre pressure monitoring systems are operating

at maximum efficiency. Currently running as a pilot in 50 Kwik-Fit centres, the service is set to be rolled out later this year.

The firm said it is vital that TPMS are correctly maintained to maximise road safety and reduce vehicle operation costs. “TPMS technology gives drivers an in-car dashboard warning when a loss of pressure occurs in any tyre. If tyres are not running at the pressure recommended by manufacturers then road safety, tyre wear and tyre life is compromised and economy and emissions suffer,” it said.

Kwik-Fit has sourced equipment that can read TPMS identification numbers and manually change the TPMS sensor number in the engine control unit. This allows centres to replace sensors and rotate and reposition wheels.
