Average used car values have remained almost stagnant in July, with prices falling from £5802 to £5784, a quarter of one percent change, according to BCA.

However, average fleet values saw more price pressure, dropping by £276, or 3.7% from £7546 to £7180.

BCA said the fleet model mix was very similar to last month, which “was a reflection of softer demand as average prices fell in two of the three main product sectors”. Despite this, sold volumes increased by just over 1% in July compared to June.

Premium fleet models fell from £10,866 to £10,449, while volume models dropped from £5509 to £5425, a decrease of £84 or 1.5%.
