Vehicle transportation company Jigcar has appointed James Griffin to the new position of transport director.
Griffin is said to bring a wealth of fleet and automotive industry experience to the role, as he was formerly head of logistics at Cazoo, and prior to that managed regional logistics for Wincanton.
Jigcar says the appointment is part of ambitious strategic growth plans, with its AI-driven offering aimed at dealer groups, car supermarkets, leasing companies, and rental firms.
Jigcar CEO Elliot Perks said: “James Griffin has deep domain expertise that our dealer customers can lean on when transforming their transport model at a group level.
“He will also play a significant role in the development of our all-new AutoPlan Transport Management System, ahead of its launch to retail, fleet and transport groups this quarter.
“In a period where customer-delivered fleet sales are dominating the new car market, having James on the management team is another step in our strategy to becoming the go-to team of experts in our field of automotive transport, not just a software provider.”
Griffin’s appointment follows last year’s naming of Simon Bottomley as Jigcar’s chairman.
Bottomley, who retains his position as chief operating officer of Vindis Group, was previously chairman of Hutchings Motor Group, chief operating officer of Hendy Group and group managing director of Thurlow Nunn.
