Nissan-owned prestige brand Infiniti has announced prices for its first ever diesel powered saloon, which arrives in the UK in October.
The M30d is a Europe-only model squarely targeted at poaching sales from the German brands that dominate the premium market.
With a starting price of £36,750 the M30d will complement the M37 petrol model in the Infiniti line-up, which will be further boosted by the arrival of the M35 hybrid in 2011.
The M30d has a 3.0-litre V6 235bhp powertrain capable of 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 155mph. Infiniti claimed the engine develops 406 lb ft of torque and has C02 emissions of under 200g/km. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 37.7mpg.
The M30d is available in five trim levels with the flagship M30d S Premium priced from £46,600.
Standard features on the entry-level model include seven-speed automatic transmission, bi-xenon lights, reversing camera, parking sensors, heated steering wheel and hard disc drive sound system.
