The Seat Ibiza and Ford Kuga have both recorded top-notch Euro NCAP crash results in the latest round of testing.
All of the seven new models tested scored the maximum four stars for child occupant protection, but the Ibiza and Kuga were the only two to hit the five-star maximum for adult occupant protection and three out of five for pedestrian protection.
Audi‘s A4 and the Skoda Superb scored five out of five for adult occupant protection but only managed two for pedestrian protection, while the other three cars tested – the Hyundai i10, Citroen Berlingo and VW Caravelle – scored four out of five for adult protection.
The Hyundai did, however, achieve three stars for pedestrian protection, unlike the two-star Berlingo and one-star Caravelle.
NCAP was pleased with the good occupant protection scores, but the organisation wasn’t happy with the pedestrian protection scores, slamming the lack of progress made by manufacturers.
