Hyundai has teased its new Tucson SUV with a design sketch ahead of its debut at the Geneva motor show.

No announcements have been made about what will power the Tucson, but expect more details to emerge at the Geneva motor show.

BusinessCar understands theĀ Tucson will replace the firm’s ix35 crossover in the near future as Hyundai looks to align its SUV line-up closer to the more successful Santa Fe.

Hyundai said the firm has sold more than a million SUVs in Europe since the original Santa Fe was launched in the early 2000s.

“Our new compact SUV will be a big step forward for the Hyundai brand globally,” said Peter Schreyer, chief design officer at Hyundai.

“The Tucson has a bold and athletic presence and a proud stance,” said Schreyer.
