Hyundai is aiming to further position itself as a European manufacturer with the introduction of the i30 estate, based on the recently revealed i30 hatch.

Set to go head-to-head with company car favourites such as the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, the new lower-medium car will be built in the Czech Republic and was designed in Germany.

The new Hyundai estate will go on sale in the UK at the start of 2008. At 4.47m long and 1.53m high the estate is 230mm longer, and 50mm taller than the five-door hatch.

Power comes from either a 1.6 diesel or 1.6 petrol engine.
