Honda has revealed an updated version of its Jazz supermini ahead of the car’s debut at next month’s Frankfurt motor show.
The Jazz is set to rival the likes of the Ford Fiesta and Skoda Fabia when it goes on sale in November, with the first deliveries to commence early in 2018.
The vehicle features a number of exterior styling changes to bring it in to line with the rest of the range, including a new headlight and grille design at the front, while the front bumper has been resculpted around the air vents.
Engine-wise, the Jazz will be equipped with a 130hp 1.5-litre petrol unit for the first time, as well as the 102hp 1.3-litre petrol engine that is already available in the Jazz. The more powerful motor emits 124g/km of CO2 and returns 53.2mpg when fitted with a CVT transmission, placing it in the 23% 2017-18 Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) tax bracket.
The new engine is offered as part of the new Dynamic trim level, which offers sporty styling tweaks, including a thinner front splitter, a triple-strake diffuser at the rear, LED headlights, side sill skirts, a tailgate spoiler and gloss-black alloy wheels. Inside, the Dynamic trim level features include a pinstripe pattern on the upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The other engine emits 120g/km of CO2 and returns 55.4mpg, putting it in the 23% 2017-18 BIK band. Standard kit on the Jazz includes cruise control, automatic headlights and a city braking system, while higher grades feature a seven-inch media system, a rear parking camera, keyless entry and safety technologies such as a forward collision warning, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition tools.
The Japanese manufacturer recently announced that 100 dealerships have signed up to its Platinum Programme, which is designed to offer better service to fleet customers. The programme offers training for all dealer principals, sales managers and sales advisors, allowing them to better understand the needs of fleet customers.
In addition, customers can take 48-hour test drives, allowing them to understand how the vehicle can meet their needs. The programme also aims to increase the volume of fleet sales through Honda’s network.
