Fleet management Gofor has been appointed to manage Mowi Scotland’s transition to an electrified vehicle fleet.
Seafood company Mowi is aiming for all its company cars to be electric or hybrid by 2025, with vans and pick-up trucks also included in this transition as suitable vehicles become available.
EVs already on the fleet include Citroen E-Spacetourers and an MG4, while workplace charging is also being installed – initially 7kW-rated but with more rapid charging to follow.
Gofor has provided strategic insight on the electrification, creating an EV/PHEV fleet policy and producing driver guidance which highlights company car BIK savings.
Mowi purchasing manager Ian Barrett said: “The remote geography of our business makes it more challenging to reduce our vehicle emissions, but this doesn’t limit our ambition.
“We’re making major differences wherever we can, the electric people carriers have been a great start, and with more fully-electric company cars planned, we’re clearly making great strides.”
Gofor managing director Graham Lesslie said: “We’ve taken a highly proactive approach to ensure that the switch to electric and hybrid is as smooth as possible for Mowi.
“The Gofor team set up test drives to get employees comfortable with EVs and we also facilitated workplace chargepoint installation to make running the vehicles really easy.
“Our customer success team will support Mowi in the future with both vehicles and chargers as they transition to a reduced carbon fleet.”
