Ford‘s low-CO2 Econetic range has been expanded to include the Fiestavan and the iconic Transit.

The Transit offers the technology on its 2.2-litre diesel-engined SWB 280 model, while the Fiestavan Econetic uses the same 90PS 1.6-litre diesel as its car equivalent.

The Fiestavan shares the same tweaks as its green passenger counterpart. It’s been lowered, fitted with low rolling resistance tyres, and had its aerodynamics slightly fiddled with. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are a claimed 76.4mpg and 98g/km respectively.

The Transit offers fuel economy of 39.2mpg and emissions of 189g/km. It too has received low rolling resistance tyres and engine tweaks. It also offers a gearshift indicator and is electronically limited to 70mph as standard.

More information, including pricing, is expected on both models before their launch in the autumn of this year.
