The Ford Puma was the UK’s most-registered new car in 2024, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The small SUV recorded 48,340 registrations during the year.

An all-SUV top five included the Kia Sportage in second place, with 47,163 registrations, ahead of the Nissan Qashqai with 42,418, the Nissan Juke with 34,454, and the Tesla Model Y with 32,862.

Completing the top ten were the Volkswagen Golf (32,370 registrations), Hyundai Tucson (32,174), MG HS (30,207), Volvo XC40 (30,202), and Volkswagen Polo (28,981).

The SMMT has also published a list of the top-selling pure EVs during the year, which saw the Tesla Model Y in first place, ahead of the Audi Q4 E-Tron (17,622 registrations) and Tesla Model 3 (17,425).

Completing the top ten were the MG4 (15,651 registrations), BMW i4 (12,953), Mercedes-Benz EQA (11,617), Skoda Enyaq (11,516), Hyundai Kona (10,858), Volvo EX30 (9,931), and Volkswagen ID.4 (8,927).
