Start-up technology firm Fleet on Demand has launched a new system designed to allow fleet operators to find out where and when rental vehicles are available for bookings.
Developed in collaboration with rental software specialist Prohire, the system allows users to view real-time availability of vehicles within Prohire’s 200-strong network of independent rental companies, which is said to comprise more than 27,000 vehicles.
Fleet on Demand managing director Sarah Easton described the move as “one of the single biggest innovations to come to the UK rental market in the past 10 years.
“For the first time renters of vehicles will be able to physically see if and where vehicles are available in the UK and automatically reserve them in a split second.
“We believe this is now the largest automated network of independent rental companies in the UK and certainly the only one offering real-time availability.”
