Following the Cabinet appointment of Lord Adonis to transport secretary and the promotion of MP Sadiq Khan to transport minister, the Department for Transport has now seen the departure of road safety minister Jim Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick is MP for Poplar and Canning Town and was first elected in 1997. He moves to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
His replacement at the DfT has yet to be announced.
