Peugeot has revealed its new 3008 crossover, with first deliveries taking place early next year.
The 3008 is powered by a choice of four petrol engines and five diesel units. The most frugal version motor – a 120hp 1.6-litre diesel – emits 100g/km of CO2.
A petrol hybrid variant is due to be launched in 2019, a spokesman for the company told BusinessCar.
Luggage space in the new 3008 has increased by 90 litres over the outgoing model, up to 520 litres.
The 3008 also comes with two unusual optional extras designed to appeal to commuters – a folding electric scooter and a folding electric bike. These are stored in the boot, and the batteries are recharged when the vehicle moves.
Inside, the crossover features inductive smartphone charging, an eight-inch touchscreen media system, which offers voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, Mirrorlink and Android Auto compatibility and enables hands-free device control as well as a 3D satnav from TomTom which also gives information on weather, parking availability and service station data.
Safety features included with the 3008, meanwhile, include active city brake and distance alert tools, a lane departure warning tool and a driver warning alert function which triggers messages to remind drivers to take a break after they have driven for more than two hours.
