Fiat Group has laid bare its new model plans for the next four years as the firm looks to absorb the Chrysler Group into its organisation.
The Italian firm has confirmed 34 new models and 17 facelifts for Europe across the Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Chrysler, Jeep and Fiat Professional brands. Lancia and Chrysler will be amalgamated on the continent, but the Lancia brand’s continued absence from the UK means Chrysler is set to continue here.
From a business car point of view, the headlines include a replacement for the core fleet lower medium Fiat Bravo, within two years in saloon form, and another 12 months later for the more popular hatchback and estate, as well as a new five- and seven-seat Fiat mini-MPV also coming in 2012, a year behind a Nissan Qashqai-style crossover vehicle, both likely to be based on underpinnings from the Chrysler Group.
Also in the pipeline for next year is a Fiat Panda commercial vehicle, while Alfa Romeo will get a replacement for the upper medium 159 and a new small off-roader in 2012. A Fiat pick-up is also in the product plan for the same year.
