Renault has facelifted the Megane range for 2012 and added three new engines to the line-up.
The Megane hatchback, coupe, Sport Tourer (estate) and RenaultSport 265 have all undergone a mild front end restyle, with LED daytime running lights and chrome and black gloss finishes on the bumper.
A new selection of alloy wheels is available, along with new paint schemes.
Interior changes include two new trims and a two-tone leather pack. GT-Line spec adds the likes of red stitching, sports steering wheel and RenaultSport badging, along with boomerang shaped LED lights.
The new TCe 115 petrol engine is claimed to be the most powerful 1.2-litre engine in the world and offers 115hp, 119g/km and 53.3mpg.
New diesel engines comprise a revised and extremely clean version of the existing 1.5-litre dCi unit with 110hp, 90g/km and 80.7mpg, along with the 1.6-litre dCi 130 engine from the Scenic and Grand Scenic, which offers 70.6mpg and 104g/km in the Megane.
All three engines get stop-start systems as standard.
Renault‘s Visio System – also seen on the Scenic and Grand Scenic – is now available as an option with the Megane, which automatically switches from main to dipped beam headlights and has a lane departure warning system.
Hill start assist, a rear view camera and a sensor that monitors cabin air quality and automatically adjusts the climate control system are also on the options list.
The new Megane goes on sale in the UK in April.
