Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a facelifted version of its CLA.

Updates have been made to both the saloon – badged Coupe – and estate – badged Shooting Brake – variants of the C-segment model, designed to offer a sleeker alternative to the company’s A-Class.

Exterior design changes include a newly-shaped front apron, revised front grille, and a new rear diffuser, along with modernised graphics for the now-standard LED High Performance headlights, and LED tail lights.

Inside, there’s the latest-generation version of the Mercedes MBUX infotainment system, running on a free-standing double screen with displays measuring 7in and 10.25in as standard (a pair of 10.25in screens is optional). A leather steering wheel is also now standard.

Engine options with the regular range include 136hp, 163hp, 190hp, and 224hp petrol mild hybrids, 116hp, 150hp, and 190hp diesels, and a 163hp petrol plug-in hybrid. The latter has received a 5kW power increase to its electric motor, and also had its AC charging capability increased from 7.4kW to 11kW.

Additional engines with the Mercedes-AMG performance variants are 306hp and 421hp petrols.

UK sale details are yet to be announced.
