Kia has revealed full details of its revised Optima large family car.
The facelifted Optima is on sale now, available as a saloon or Sportswagon estate.
Available trim levels are 2 and 3 with the saloon, and 2, 3, GT-Line S and a new GT performance model with the Sportswagon.
The big change to the regular Optima range comes under the bonnet: the former 1.7-litre diesel engine is replaced with a new 1.6-litre diesel.
The new engine produces 134hp, and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox with 2 trim, a choice of the manual or a seven-speed automatic in 3 trim, and the automatic as standard in GT-Line S.
A manual saloon in 2 trim achieves an official combined fuel economy of 62.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 117g/km.
The fuel economy figure changes to 64.2mpg when paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox, and 61.4 in the Sportswagon. Meanwhile CO2 emissions are 118g/km for the saloon in 3 trim, 121g/km for the manual Sportswagon and 122g/km for the automatic Sportswagon.
The GT features a bespoke suspension set up with revised steering and brakes to improve driving dynamics. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 241hp petrol engine, paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox, and boasts an official combined fuel economy of 30.7mpg and CO2 emissions of 211g/km.
Exterior styling changes with the revised Optima include a new-look front bumper, newly-chromed grille and revised taillights, headlights and fog lights, along with a re-profiled rear bumper on saloon models.
Inside, there’s a newly-designed steering wheel and satin-chrome trim on the centre console which extends across the dashboard.
The GT gets LED fog lights, gloss black mirror caps, side sills and air intake grille, a rear diffuser and chrome dual exhaust tips.
Standard equipment with entry-level 2 trim includes a 7in touchscreen with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, dual automatic air conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter, hill start assist and tyre pressure monitoring.
Moving up to 3 trim upgrades the touchscreen to 8in and also adds equipment including heated front seats, a 4.3in premium vision instrument cluster, a driver attention warning system, lane keep assist and a speed limit information function.
GT-Line S adds a wireless phone charger, 360 degree camera system, smart park assist, blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert, adaptive smart cruise control, high beam assist, forward collision avoidance assist, a smart powered tailgate and panoramic sunroof.
The GT gets sports interior additions, like red leather sports seats and aluminium pedals, along with a range of equipment seen with 3 and GT-Line trim levels.
Prices for the regular Optima range start at £22,260 for a manual 2 saloon and rise to £31,400 for the GT-Line S Sportswagon. The GT is priced at £33,350.
