Audi has unveiled an updated version of its A8 luxury saloon.
Styling changes include a wider front grille, new-look side air intakes and headlights (the latter with digital matrix LED technology that can create a ‘carpet of light’ illuminating only the vehicle’s current lane on the road), a customizable taillight signature with digital OLEDs, a continuous, segmented rear light strip, and a redesigned diffuser insert.
Newly-available interior equipment includes two 10.1in screens for rear-seat passengers.
Around 40 driver assistance systems are available, with the standard equipment list in the UK including adaptive cruise assist.
Engine options include a 286hp diesel, a 340hp petrol, and a 462hp plug-in hybrid – the latter featuring a 17.9kWh battery. Details of electric range, as well as economy and CO2 emissions figures, are yet to be announced.
Orders for the updated A8 will open on 2 December, with the first deliveries due in the second quarter of 2022.
Prices will start at £73,375, or at £77,375 for a long-wheelbase version.
