The Environment Agency has taken delivery of the 1,000th EV for its fleet.

The agency is aiming to reduce its total fleet emissions by 30% by 2025, and to eliminate tailpipe emissions from lease cars and LCVs by 2027.

The fleet is managed by Defra Group Fleet Services, which handed over the 1,000th EV, a Vauxhall Combo-E van, to the agency’s Spalding depot.

Defra Group Fleet Services director Dale Eynon said: “Our commitment to running the most sustainable, efficient and cost-effective fleet gets stronger every year as we take on the challenge of the climate crisis.

“Ensuring our operational field teams can ‘walk the walk’ in terms of emission reductions is vital as they protect people and wildlife from the ever-increasing impacts of our climate.”
