Software firm Ebbon-Dacs has reported a new usage record for its moDel vehicle management platform.
For the first time, a combination of moDel and moDel-VM, the stand-alone version of the system, were involved in more than 30,000 vehicle movements in a month.
The figure was achieved in March, and was 63% higher than in the same month last year.
Ebbon-Dacs says 17 major contract hire and leasing companies now use moDel for all their new vehicle transactions, with the country’s largest, Lex Autolease, the latest to sign up.
The system is designed to allow users to automatically upload all electronic vehicle delivery and collection information directly into their back office systems, or into Ebbon-Dacs’ Leaselink e-procurement platform.
Ebbon-Dacs’ commercial head for moDel Michael Terry said: “moDel has become the UK’s benchmark system for fully automated vehicle collection and delivery within the fleet market.
“Along with the new mobile phone and vans capability that we introduced recently, we are about to launch a number of new features within the system, which we believe will make it still more attractive and user-friendly.”
The planned features include new invoicing functionality enabling customers to raise invoice details against their vehicle movements, which will in turn link with external invoicing platforms.
Also planned is a new tracking and communication module that will allow more accurate tracking and planning of vehicle delivery and collection times, and a multi-lingual version of the system for customers on the European mainland.
