The SMMT’s annual CO2 report has shown that the average emissions for new car registrations fell to 164.9g/km in 2007.
The figure is down 2.3g/km from 2006, the sharpest fall since 1997, and is despite an increase in average mileage.
23% of cars registered in 2007 produce less than 140g/km.
