Chrysler has launched the saloon version of its new 300 at the Detroit motor show.

The manufacturer has added new active safety features such as adaptive forward lighting, forward collision warning and blind spot monitoring to the model, which will go on sale in US dealerships this spring before coming to the UK next year when prices for this market will be announced. In the US, prices will start at $27,995 (£17,506).

In its domestic market the Chrysler 300 will be offered in four trim levels, 300, 300 Limited, 300C and 300C AWD.

The first two are powered by the new 3.6-litre, 292 hp Pentastar V6 engine while the “letter series” models get the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 delivering 363hp and a sub-6 seconds sprint to 60 mph.
