Chevrolet is making inroads into fleet by building up relationships with corporate customers and leasing companies ahead of the launch of its five-door Cruze at the end of 2011.

Managing director Mark Terry said: “Fleet sales are stable and we are working on creating relationships, so by the time the five-door Cruze arrives the ground work has been done.”

He added most fleet buyers were user choosers.

Meanwhile, the Orlando, an MPV, arrives in October. It will primarily be retail but Terry expects it to be a popular Motability vehicle. “It’s our first proper entry with a seven-seat family car,” he said.
