Nissan Europe has appointed Philippe Saillard as its new senior vice-president of sales and marketing, replacing Guillaurme Cartier.

His promotion from his current role as vice-president of sales for Nissan Europe comes as Cartier has been appointed as corporate vice-president at Mitsubishi in Tokyo, following Nissan’s takeover of the brand last October.

James Wright, vice-president of Nissan Europe East, meanwhile, has had his remit expanded to cover the business’ performance in Russia, Ukraine and Central Eastern Europe under the new moniker of divisional vice-president, Nissan Europe East

Both Wright and Saillard will report to Paul Willcox, Nissan Europe’s chairman, with all changes being effective from 1 April.

“With their solid track records in sales and marketing across Europe, I have no doubt that both Philippe Saillard and James Wright will continue the outstanding work of Guillaume Cartier and help us meet our goal of becoming the most desirable Asian car brand [in Europe] by 2020,” said Willcox.
