The chancellor, George Osborne, has announced that the 2016 Budget will take place on Wednesday 16 March 2016.

The Budget sets out the Government’s plans for the economy based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility, as well as any proposals from the Government for changes to taxation.

During the recent Autumn Statement, Osborne postponed the removal of the 3% diesel levy to 2021, blaming delays in changes to the EU emissions tests.
