George Osborne’s 2011 Budget will be held on 23 March, the chancellor has confirmed. The date was revealed to the Treasury Select Committee, and is a change in policy from the Labour Government’s Budget statement plans, where the date was only revealed a few weeks ahead of time.
Osborne has also killed-off the Pre-Budget Statement that was previously delivered around November and previewed measures set for introduction in future Budgets.
