Aston Barclay has named Eddie Thomson as its new chief operating officer.

In the newly-created role, Thomson will be part of the executive leadership team at Aston Barclay Group, and will oversee all of Aston Barclay’s auction operations, as well as strategic projects.

Thomson’s previous jobs have included national operations director for SMA, sales and operations director for BCA, and most recently head of business development for Adesa.

He said: “I am thrilled to be joining Aston Barclay. Those who know me within the remarketing industry will tell you that I am passionate about implementing operational excellence to provide a first-class customer service.

“I look forward to working with our customers to maximise the conversion of their vehicles, as well as reducing the number of days it takes to sell them.”

Aston Barclay executive chairman Greg MacLeod said: “We have recently extended our operating hours to provide greater flexibility for customers, and Eddie’s appointment as COO further demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent customer service.

“Eddie’s expertise and leadership will continue to enhance our overall service quality, ensuring that our customers benefit from optimised auction processes and even quicker turnaround times. We are delighted to welcome Eddie to the team.”
