Ford has revealed the first pictures of its all-new Focus which goes into production at the end of this year.

The new Ford Focus will remain true to its predecessors’ high levels of driver involvement and its underpinnings will give rise to a total of 10 different vehicles around the world, according to Ford president Alan Mulally.

“The efficiencies generated by our new global C-car [Focus] platform will enable us to provide Ford Focus customers with an affordable product offering quality, fuel efficiency, safety and technology beyond their expectations,” he added.

Ford has already revealed the C-max and Grand C-max which will be based on the Focus platform.

The engine line-up for the new Focus will include Ford’s new 1.6-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol engine and improved TDCi diesel engines, “all of which offer reductions in fuel consumption of between 10% and 20% compared to the outgoing models”, said a spokesman.

The new Focus will go on sale in the UK at the start of 2011 with prices expected to be slightly higher than the outgoing model which is priced from £17,780.
