Peugeot believes there has been a tail off in demand for pure electric vehicles, which has been replaced by hybrid models.

Gareth Foden, national franchising manager at Peugeot, told ACFO delegates: “There has been a reduction in the EV forecast and a greater increase in mixed-fuel hybrid vehicles.

“It’s likely to be larger vehicles that will dominate that expansion, but also LCVs.”

He also claimed that the traditional vehicle was “under threat” and likely to be replaced with shared mobility schemes.

“It’s a case of the right vehicle for the right cost and requirements. We have a scheme called Mu and we’re going to be expanding that to provide a corporate solution
