The AA has launched a new division, aimed at growing the smaller elements of its organisation that didn’t have an overall managing director driving their development.

Former AA parent firm Acromas Financial Services boss Mark Huggins has been appointed managing director of AA Ventures, a brand that includes AA AutoWindshields, AA Cars and Service Maintenance and Repair, AA Financial Services, and AA Warranties and Inspections, as well as publishing and law businesses.

AA Ventures will also be tasked with managing future merger and acquisition activity. “Everybody is aware of the AA as the UK’s leading roadside assistance provider,” said Huggins.

“However, what people are perhaps less aware of is the sheer number of smaller, innovative growth businesses within the company. Through AA Ventures we plan to develop attractive new services that will help grow our presence in non-breakdown products and services.”
