The Government has revealed a £12 million research fund to investigate future transport projects.

Funding will be made up of £9m from the Government plus £3m from industry.

Transport minister Stephen Ladyman announced the funding at the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress in London.

“Our vision for this initiative is to support highly innovative and wide-ranging research and technology demonstrator projects, combining the best UK expertise in industry, Local Authorities, transport service providers and universities,” said Ladyman.
