Electric van maker Modec will bring its revolutionary zero emission LCV to BusinessCar Live on 26 & 27 September.

Modec has stolen a lead on rival vehicle makers with the introduction of their new green van and has already scored contract wins with Tesco, Hildon Water and Islington Borough Council.

“Everyone is right to be concerned about the environment, but the reality is that you still have a business to run and customers to supply,” said a Modec spokesman.

“The Modec range is possibly the greatest leap forward in commercial vehicles since the internal combustion engine. Quiet, pollution free and with a carrying capacity to put most others in the shade, the range is the future of urban delivery. Developing an impressive 102PS and 300Nm of torque, Modec vans can carry two tonnes up to 100 miles at 50mph with zero emissions – all from a single charge.

Modec is a sound business choice with zero congestion charges, zero road tax and zero operator licence requirements. All those zeros add up to big savings over the life of the vehicle – with close to zero effect on our environment.”

Production of the commercial vehicle was officially started by Tory Party leader David Cameron in March.

The battery-powered Modec vehicle provides the world’s first high performance, emission free alternative to traditional diesel delivery fleets and has been heralded as the future of urban commercial transport. The vehicle has already attracted many orders, with Modec aiming to produce around 500 vehicles in the first year.
