He told us that the brand was slightly further ahead with deliveries of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore than the Grecale in the UK.
He said: “Grecale Folgore is coming into the market now, dealers are getting their demonstration vehicles, and we’ll see customer deliveries shortly after that. Factory orders, can take up to three-months, but we will be managing a limited number of stock vehicles to make sure we can satisfy the inevitable demand that we’ll see initially. Now that there’s more awareness of the Grecale Folgore in the market.”
Dalziel went on to tell us that a mixture of customers are choosing Folgore models, as they appeal across the board. However, two have been delivered to the owners of an energy business, who are apparently huge EV advocates, and they are going to run them as company cars.
He said: “Those cars are a great demonstrator for an energy business, a GranTurismo and GranCabrio! So, we’ve done retail and corporate sales already, for what is a very desirable car at the end of the day.
“Historically, the GranTurismo and GranCabrio have been dyed-in-the-wool retail cars, but few can resist the opportunity to pay 2% Benefit-in-Kind tax, when you do the maths.”
Dalziel went on to tell us that Maserati had gone through the process of explaining to their dealer partners, given it is new to many. “It is a very interesting educational process – generally met with enthusiasm and wanting to make the most of the market that we’re going into.
“We certainly have ample opportunity, because from a brand perspective, as you’d expect we’ve been speaking to all the great and good in the leasing industry.
“We’ve been engaging with the salary sacrifice providers and have had some very encouraging conversations with those organisations that are supporting higher-earning members of salary-sacrifice schemes. One we were talking to, had a client where everyone is a 45% taxpayer. Plus, there’s an exit of another manufacturer that makes this a very exciting opportunity for us.
“So, it’s all about finding the right homes for the cars, the right opportunities, and supporting those in conjunction with our excellent dealer partners.”
