Although it’s not necessarily surprising to see a leasing company’s survey showing how much people love their vehicles, it has been pleasing to hear some positive noises about how important company cars are to
UK workers.

Lex Autolease’s finding that 39% of businesses increased the size of their fleets in the past two years is a good sign of the economic recovery, and even more positive is that two-thirds of fleet managers recognise the importance of company cars as an employee benefit.

That links nicely with the array of ‘first drives’ on the website, which illustrate the increasing variety of relevant and sensible choices that are available to company car drivers.

With Lex Autolease’s resurrected Report on Company Motoring also finding a fifth of fleet managers are planning to upgrade their company car offering in the next two years, vehicles such as the five-door Mini hatch, the Lexus NX small off-roader, and the Jeep Renegade crossover will appear on an employee’s radar in a way they maybe wouldn’t have done before.
