Back from France
Just a quick one this week because I have loads to do!
You know what it’s like you have a great holiday but the last few days are spoiled because you are already thinking about the problems you are going to have to face when you get back to work. You then spend the first few days trying to get through hundreds of emails before things start to get back on an even keel. Talking of boats (well this is a fleet blog) we had a very rocky channel crossing coming back which almost made me glad to be stuck again on the M25.
Having just spent two weeks in France (the weather was no better than here by the way) I can confirm that the appetite for satellite navigation is not just a UK phenomenon. I was surprised at how many drivers in France had satnavs stuck to their windscreen. It was usually in the oldest and most rusty Renault 5s as well. The satnav was probably worth more than the car itself! It just confirms my thoughts that the manufacturers will soon start to install them as standard and they will become like air conditioning is today. When this happens it will also make a dent in the profits of some windscreen companies who are fitting more side windows than windscreens due to the dramatic increase in satnav theft from vehicles.
Anyway At least I managed to get away from work completely for a few weeks as luckily I don’t have a Blackberry!
